The Southern Monument has been created in miniature – a maquette of the monument was available for the Planning Department in Stanley to allow them to visualise the impact the structure could create at Dockyard Point. The engineering diagrams and construction methods of the Flame are being finalized, as are the inscriptions on the plinth below.

Similar information will be added to the Northern Monument in the grounds of the Scott Polar Research Institute in Cambridge, but the panel will be of a different form to fit in with its geometry and setting.
